PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This was a major project that we successfully tendered.
This project was in the middle of Wexford town which meant we had limited access. We worked alongside Wexford County Council and developed an access plan for the project. Hours worked were 8-6 due to residents living around the area.
First part of works carried out on this project was the rock breaking. A 50-ton digger was brought onsite to break rock down to 10m in depth. This was awkward as the site was tight but with precision and caution, we got through it.
We used dry concrete backfill, which took over 1000m3 to fill. For the soil removal process, soil had to be loaded over hoarding to lorries on the street.
Drainage management was facilitated with cast iron pipes surround. A 7m concrete base was also dug for the erection of a crane.
On this project everyone had a time slot for deliveries and departures which worked very well.
Underpinning was carried out to existing houses as we were carrying out works below their floor level.
It was nice to be involved in this project as it was only the 2nd opera house to be built in Ireland.
We were very pleased with the finish result.
